STORY
THE Gilmour story
When your team was down a goal, the clock ticking, the fans ever quiet…nobody could make everything possible again quite like “Killer.”
Doug Gilmour could put a team on his back and rush it up the ice to turn the tide. Stanley Cup Champion. All Star. Team Canada superstar. Hall of Famer. Doug Gilmour did it all as Captain or Assistant Captain for seven NHL teams. He broke into the league in St. Louis. He won the Cup in Calgary. He stole hearts in Toronto. He was depended on as a leader in New Jersey, Chicago, Buffalo and Montreal.
"In the 100 year plus history of the Toronto Maple Leafs, few players represented the heart and soul of the team the way Doug Gilmour did. ‘Killer’ brought new hope to the team and its fans during his time with the club. Doug fought and bled for the jersey and became a legend, with his name in the rafters along with some of hockey’s finest. Doug’s career saw him win a Stanley Cup with the Calgary Flames, and the 1987 Canada Cup for his country. But the story of Doug Gilmour isn’t just found in the record books - it’s found in the hearts of the fans who looked to him as their hero, even years after his career."

As a Centre, he potted 510 regular season and playoff goals over nearly 1700 NHL games, and remains the benchmark for passion and clutch performance.
